What you get from PerfectKini beyond the piece itself: same-business-day shipping on most orders placed by 2 PM PST, expert curation across 120+ luxury brands, and a team that genuinely knows the inventory. We're not a warehouse. We know what we have and why it matters.
Most swimwear brands operate the way fashion has always operated: design a collection, manufacture inventory in bulk, ship to warehouses, sell through, discount what remains. OneOne Swimwear does none of that. Founded in 2016 by Olga and Santiago — two law school graduates who quit their legal careers to build a swim brand from scratch — OneOne has pioneered an on-demand production model in which every single bikini is made for the specific customer who ordered it. No inventory. No deadstock. No waste. Just the swimsuit you ordered, made in Medellín, Colombia, and shipped to wherever you are in the world.
From Law School to Medellin
The founding story of OneOne has the quality of a leap of faith well-taken. Olga and Santiago met in college while pursuing law degrees, graduated, and then made a decision that most people spend years rationalizing: they quit everything and invested their combined savings into designing a swimwear collection. The first campaign was shot in the Bahamas — a deliberate visual statement of where the brand intended to live.
"ONEONE" carries multiple meanings that reflect the founders' thinking. In Samoan, the word means "sand." It also signifies the union of two individual pieces — top and bottom — to create one complete style. And it encodes the founding structure of the company itself: not one, but two, working together. That duality runs through everything the brand builds.
The On-Demand Revolution
OneOne's production model is genuinely unusual in swimwear retail. "You order it, we make it," is how the founders describe it. No bikini in the OneOne catalog exists as physical inventory waiting to be purchased — every piece is manufactured after the order is placed, in the brand's privately-owned factory in Medellín. This model eliminates the deadstock problem that plagues fashion retail (industry estimates suggest 30% or more of manufactured clothing is never sold), reduces the carbon footprint of production, and ensures that the factory's workforce — over 300 female heads of household — is employed on a genuinely responsive, dignified basis rather than in precarious surge-and-layoff cycles.
The factory's management structure is employee-led, with workers empowered to participate in decisions about their working conditions. Ethical labor practices are not a marketing appendix at OneOne — they are structurally embedded in how the factory operates.
Sustainable at the Molecular Level
Fifty percent of OneOne's bikinis are made from fabrics developed from recycled raw materials. Combined with the on-demand production system, this makes OneOne one of the genuinely most sustainable brands operating in swimwear at scale — not because of offsetting or certification theater, but because of hard structural choices made at the production level. There is simply less waste, fewer materials consumed, and a more efficient relationship between demand and supply.
The brand debuted at Paraiso Miami Swim Week in 2022, opening a weekend of shows with a collection that featured ribbed textured fabrics, solid materials, shiny lurex, and eco-friendly original prints in violet, navy, sky blue, coral, and a solid essentials line of black, white, grey, and ivory. The show was praised for its colorful sportiness, its body-inclusive casting, and the coherence of its sustainable story. In 2023, the brand returned with the #TBT collection — a vintage-inflected line featuring bold color blocking and retro silhouettes — and opened with model Joy Corrigan on the runway.
Celebrity Alignment and Cultural Visibility
Prior to their Swim Week appearances, OneOne built significant cultural visibility through their Coachella collection, which was worn by Kendall Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian — an organic endorsement from two of the most photographed women at one of the most photographed events in the cultural calendar. That association communicates something important about the brand's aesthetic: OneOne is not purely function-forward sustainability. The pieces are genuinely fashion-forward, color-rich, and designed to be seen.
Fashion-Forward, Colombia-Made
The OneOne collection available through PerfectKini reflects the brand's dual identity: fashion-conscious design married to ethical, on-demand production. These are pieces that perform at a pool party and on a runway with equal conviction — which is precisely what Olga and Santiago set out to build when they made their leap from law school to the Bahamas and back again, with 300 Medellín seamstresses making every order, one swimsuit at a time.
