FAE Swim Jones Bottom - Hibiscus

Hibiscus is the print that decides the whole trip. Saturated, tropical, unapologetic — and cut into FAE's most minimal bottom, which is the point. The Jones Bottom is FAE's take on the Brazilian thong: thin side straps, barely-there coverage, and a gold embossed FAE plate at the back. It is a tan-line bottom for people who have decided against tan lines. Bali, Tulum, the flat rocks at Cala Comte at two in the afternoon.

Fit & Sizing — Measure, Don't Guess

FAE is an Australian label and grades accordingly. A FAE Large is a US 8–10. For comparison, a Vitamin A Large is a US 12–14 — the same letter, four US sizes apart, on the same website. This is exactly why we publish inches instead of asking you to trust a letter.

• Upper hip is the measurement that matters on this cut — that's where the side straps sit. Measure around the top of your bottom, tape parallel to the floor. Lower hip (the widest point) is secondary on a thong.
• Between sizes: size UP. This is FAE's own guidance and the opposite of what we recommend on ribbed Vitamin A styles. The Jones has fixed side straps with no tie adjustment, so there is no way to correct a size that runs small.
• Coverage, honestly: this is a G-string. Minimal rear coverage, thin sides. If you haven't worn a Brazilian thong before, this is not the one to learn on.
• Pairs with: any FAE top — the range is built to mix. FAE's own recommended matches for the Jones are the Lumi and the Gypsy.
• Print note: FAE shoots much of its photography on film, and colour varies slightly between production runs. Hibiscus may read marginally different in daylight than on screen.

Sustainability Details

FAE builds every range in regenerated nylon — ECONYL® or REPREVE® depending on the colorway — made from post-consumer waste including fishing nets recovered from the ocean, industrial plastic, and plastic bottles. The material argument isn't only environmental: regenerated Italian techno-nylon is substantially more resistant to chlorine, sunscreen, and body oils than conventional swim fabric, which is the actual reason these outlast cheaper suits.

• Avoid sitting directly on rough teak, concrete, or pool edges.
